Saturday Engineering Programs with Educating Young Engineers!

The Saturday Engineering Program is one where current PLTW engineering students and elementary aged students get the chance to work together. With student leaders and volunteers from the high school, EYE is an opportunity for the community to unite to do one common activity: Play. The elementary aged students are able to take an interest in engineering through a great variety of themed activities: Sports, Harry Potter, Music, Star Wars, etc. Students are able to learn valuable and accessible engineering, math, and science related skills from mentor volunteers- teachers and high school students in their own district.

EYE is itself a community created and a community benefitting organization. All monies go back into the program to help it grow and offer more and more elementary students EYE programs in the future!

The goal of the EYE organization is to excite as many students as possible about engineering, problem solving, and innovating. If your school district or community organization would like to help us achieve this mission, there are tons of ways EYE can help you get started!

I had the pleasure of attending the EYE event held for 100 K-3rd graders at Saratoga High School last Saturday! The day was fun-filled as well as STEM-filled.
I was impressed with the leadership, organization, and delivery of hands-on activities - by high school students! They ably served as role models for our youngest inventors-in-the making.
